Our thoughts on the Met Gala 2016

Posted: May 04 2016

We're all guilty of it...in front of the TV, wine in hand and judging celebrities on the red carpet in gowns *sigh* that we will never wear.

The event: The Met Gala
The theme: Manus x Machina

In case you missed it, here is a recap on who we loved and who we didn't!

Best Dressed Siblings
Runner Up: Kylie (Balmain) and Kendall Jenner (Versace)
Love them or hate them...there's no denying they rock a ball gown

Winner: Jaden and Willow Smith both wearing Chanel
The 15 and 17 year old siblings stole the red carpet hand in hand (cute!) wearing Chanel. We wish we were this cool... 'hello Will Smith we'd like to be adopted!'

The Most Creative
Diane Von Furstenberg with her butterfly headpiece
Last year it was feathers, this year butterflies. Diane von Furstenberg knows how to rock a headpiece and still look oh so elegant.

Who Best Rocked the Sparkles
Runner Up: Cindy Crawford (wearing Balmain)
Seen hanging out with fellow sparkle wearer Kendall Jenner, Cindy Crawford looked dazzling in her bedazzled Balmain gown

Winner: Kate Bosworth head to toe in Dolce and Gabbana
Just amazing!

The Worst!
Runner(s) Up (yes there are a few!): Katy Perry, Lady Gaga and Taylor Swift
No surprise Katy Perry and Lady Gaga went all out. Unfortunately a little too out for us. Whereas Taylor Swift, usually looking elegant on the runway was a little too cyber punk for us... not your best Tay Tay

Winner... or Loser: Madonna
You can definitely 'see' why we don't particularly love this one, oh Madonna.

The Most Elegant
Runner(s) Up: Nicole Kidman, Olivia Wilde, Blake Lively
Black was the popular colour of choice this year and Olivia Wilde and Nicole Kidman did it right! Even though Blake Lively looks like she accidentally dressed for the wrong ball, we still think she looks incredible!

Winner: Anna Wintour (Chanel) with daughter Bee Shaffer (Alexander McQueen)
The Queen of Vogue can do no wrong!

The Best of the Best
Runner Up: Zoe Saldana elegantly pea-cocking in Dolce and Gabbana
It's hard not to steal the show in a dress like this...

Uh need we say more...
