Adrift Every Woman: Edwina Campbell

Adrift Every Woman: Edwina Campbell

There is no question that our Wholesale Manager, the lovely Edwina, is passionate about working with our Adrift stockists, ensuring they are in the know of our latest releases. Edwina constantly goes above and beyond to ensure that our stores are provided with the best opportunities and support, as she loves seeing their success. She has recently been busy planning our Life In Style Tradeshow with the support of our Accounts and Operations Manager Jamie.

Many of you have probably spoken to our bubbly Edwina over the phone (as she is constantly working behind the scenes) so we'd love for you to get to know a bit more about this amazing lady.  You might also recognise her similarity to our Director Bec...they are sisters!

Let's introduce you to Edwina -

Name: Edwina Campbell

Age: 52

Occupation/Profession: Adrift Wholesale Manager, in the past Registered nurse.

Describe yourself in three words: Energetic, empathetic and a little untidy?

What makes you tick? My family and friends and of course my three year old boxer Scout, she’s so gorgeous.

What are you most passionate about? As boring as it sounds, my family and friends, relationships in life are everything.

What do you think are the most important issues for women currently? Equality for women in my lifetime has moved so quickly, that I think for some women it is now difficult to know what they should and should not be doing. At the end of day, men and women should all be trying to be the best people they can be.

What advice would you give to your ‘15 year old self’? Be nicer to your Mum and Dad.

What is the biggest change you’ve seen in your lifetime? The internet and technology, and everyday in some way I still grapple with it!!

How has that impacted your world? I guess I have worked hard to try and get on top of technology as best I can, and as a result there have been many positives, especially keeping in touch with friends around the globe.

What are you most proud of in your life? It’s so boring and cliche, but most definitely my family, both my immediate and extended.  We are all so close, I am so grateful and proud of that.

Tell us something that people might not know about you? I love AFL, especially The Swans...2018 is our year.

What did you want to be when you grew up? A Doctor, I didn’t get the grades but I still had a fabulous career as a nurse for many many years, I’ve never had any regrets.

What is a piece of advice or quote that has really stuck with you? Be kind, kind people always end up ok.

Why is it important for brands (like Adrift) to create clothing to suit all types of women? Adrift is a unique brand for so many reasons, but the aspect I love the most is that we recognise that women of all ages and shapes often like similar fashion styles. Our ranges start at a size 8 and finish at a size 24, and the designs are the same for everyone, I love that.

Do you think it is important for women to feel confident about how they look? I think it is important for everyone to feel good about how they look, and the fact that brands like Adrift provide clothes for all women, immediately makes all women feel included! I honestly don’t understand why more brands out there don’t cater for a broader type of woman.

Why do you think this is important? How you feel on the inside ultimately determines how happy you really are and taking care of your mind and soul is fundamental, but a part of that is feeling good on the outside.

What difference do you think it makes to a woman when she feels confident about herself? When you are confident about your appearance, and you know your looking your best, you feel good and ultimately you give your best.

Can you identify women (high profile or known personally to you) that you feel are great examples or role models?  Llew Mullins, co founder of Yalari Indigenous Education fund, established in QLD, she is an amazing women who gives tirelessly to this wonderful organisation. (Plus my mother in law Mardy, she is one of the kindest  people I know).

Your little list of loves

What is your regular coffee or tea order? Skim cap extra hot (annoying order I know).

What is the last thing you do before going to bed at night? Think of 5 great things that happened today and 5 great things that will happen the next day.  I am a bad sleeper and it seems to really help me.

What do you do to wind down each day? Walk my dog and drink a glass of wine.

How do you ‘move your body’? Walk and yoga.

Favourite playlist or podcast? My daughter puts playlists together for me, a bit of old and new music.

Where do you go for inspiration? The beach and the bush.

What is your morning ritual? A walk and a cuppa.

What are you reading at the moment? A little Life, Hanya Yanagihara.

What do you like to get up to of a weekend? Dinner/ drinks with friends and in the winter a game of AFL.

Favourite holiday spot? Currumbin QLD.

Next holiday destination? Currumbin QLD.
