The Style Edit: Adrift Linen Pant

Did you know that we carry a range of beautiful lightweight and breathable linen pant styles? Throughout this blog, I'm going to introduce this range with a refresh on the linen fabric, how to take care of it and most importantly (in my opinion) on how to style it with reference to our Camille and Linen pant range. I have recently taken a real liking to linen and I think it's going to be a real trend over the next few months, having seen this at the Life in Style Tradeshow. Now is the time to give these styles a real go!

So here's the lowdown on linen. It's is a natural fibre, traditionally made from 'flax'; a finicky plant that requires a good deal of attention during its growth. The production of quality linen fabric is highly dependant on growing and harvesting procedures.

To look after your linen pieces, they generally can be machine-washed (in a garment bag) although they do have a tendency to wrinkle. Ironing of linen should be done while damp, and only to remove wrinkles, never to dry the fabric; linen should be laid flat to dry.  This is the best way to reduce the wrinkles to look after the fabric.

Now onto styling (my favourite)... let's start with the Camille pant.

The Camille Pant is a staple item that can be worn throughout the day and into the night. Sporting a high-waisted fit, flared bottom and a rough edge hemline, these pants offer a contemporary flare to your outfit, whilst accentuating your curves and slimming your legs. They're available in sizes XS to 3XL and I love them paired back with a basic white tee , our tan cross body bag and statement earring like our Two Tier Tassel Earrings in Cream. Perfect for a Sunday brunch or a quiet day in the office. On the other hand, pair the pants with a classy black top, heels and a bold clutch to vamp up the look for dinner with your friends or partner.

If you prefer a shorter style, I would highly recommend the cropped linen pants...they're also available in white and black.

I've styled these for an easy weekday look, using the Winter Swing Tee in Navy as the foundation. A fun scarf is an easy way of dressing up this style, whilst also adding a fun pop of colour! If you haven't checked out our new range of scarves, definitely have a look here, with a variety of bright colours to tickle your fancy. We've just introduced a gorgeous range of handbags and clutches, with this one in particular being the Kendall zip clutch in nude. You can NEVER go wrong with a nude clutch which is why I think it's a great investment.

I hope this has given you a few ideas of how to wear and look after your linen pieces! I’d love it if you leave some feedback on the blog or you can email me at bec.h@adrift.com.au for any inquiries.

Bec xx
